In Loving Memory Of You Mum - Poem

February 15, 2021
In Loving Memory of You Mum

Mum, I am not quite sure what to say,

But a big part of me left with you that day

God called you home and you said goodbye.

Although silent your farewell, I can’t deny

My peace at the freedom you have now.

Freedom from tears so your singing can be heard,

Freedom from pain to dance free again,

Freedom from sorrow as only joy abounds.

Whilst here with us you taught us a lot,

How to read and write and we never forgot.

You worked so hard and gave life your all,

You fought your fight and did your best to stand tall.

So, grief may fill the hole that’s now left,

But memories will remind us that we’re blessed.

And despite human imperfections,

Mum your love and unique display of affection,

Will continue to shape all our lives,

Making brighter lights that will forever thrive.

So, although I cry and mourn tonight,

Although silent your farewell, I can’t deny

My peace at the freedom you have now.

Freedom from tears so your singing can be heard,

Freedom from pain to dance free again,

Freedom from sorrow as only joy abounds.

Mum, you will always have a special place in our hearts.

In loving memory of you mum.

Goodnight aunty

February 15, 2021
Aunty Agnes, I met you through University of Benin Christian Union Alumni Group, though our connection was very brief and short-term, the words of wisdom you shared at the meeting remained with me and your impact is profound. Throughout the last 2 years, the grace at which your husband and children have carried through the storms was enviable and a testimony of their complete trust in our Lord Jesus.
We were certain of your healing and awaiting the day you will share your testimonies of what the Lord revealed to you while on that bed, only to hear of the testimony of your rising to glory. There's no injustice in Christ and we will certainly see you again to hear the testimonies how you overcame, sleep on beloved.
Grace and strength to uncle Chucks and your children to carry on.

Dear Aniereobis
Afam, Anita and the family received the news of the passing of your dear wife and Mum. We are indeed sorry to hear this and sympathise with you at this time of grief. The Lord comfort and give you all the strength to bear this loss. We do not mourn like those who do not know God because there is hope to see her again. Please be consoled by the good times you had with her when she was with you in the flesh. The Lord is your strength.

Running sisters

February 13, 2021
Sis Agnes
Remember when we set ourselves the goal of running The Great South Run over 10 miles. Every Saturday morning we would meet at 6 am as this was the only time family life would allow. We would run and talk, run and talk. I loved your counsel. You helped me be a better mother, a better wife, a better daughter of Christ. And we did it! We ran those ten miles. I know you are still running greater things in heavenly places. As we are all alive in Him, I’ll see you soon.

Beautiful Sister in and out

February 7, 2021
Agnes, Usikaro, my beautiful and caring sister. She was loving, never complained. You never knew when she was down, always smiling. She was very supportive, always had something to bring to the table, very industrious. We take consolation that you have gone ahead, and we will meet again. Continue to rest onthe bosom of our Lord. We love you. Michael and Michelle say hello to their lovely Godmother.

Auntie Agnes, you are and will always be a blessing. Your legacy of love, peace and excellence will live on. I remember your wise words and Godly advise, from when I was a child and even into my marriage. Thank you for allowing God to use you to be a blessing to so many. I pray that God strengthens your family during this time, you will be missed but never forgotten.

Agnes fought the good fight and kept the faith

January 31, 2021
We are still reeling in shock and trying to process and accept that our dear sister Agnes has gone to be with the Lord.  We’ve been friends for over 32 years and it has been a privilege and a blessing to serve in the ministry alongside Rev Chuks and his dear wife Agnes.  She was a God fearing woman who raised her children well.  She was hospitable, humble and a pillar of support to her husband and a rock in the ministry.  Agnes was a prayerful woman who believed God will always fulfil His promises, no matter what.   We missed her in our regular Friday prayer meetings since she took ill and only God can fill the vacuum she left behind.
Agnes, you fought the good fight, you finished the race and you kept the faith.  2Timothy 4:7
Sleep well our dear sister until we meet in Christ's bosom to part no more.

We first met Agnes in autumn 2008 when we attended Word of Life Church with our then eight week old daughter Amara. I vividly remember Agnes embraced us Sunday after Sunday, often offering to hold Amara. Agnes made us feel welcome, something I will never forget. Agnes was a true people's person whom God used to touch lives. It devastated us to see Agnes unwell in hospital but I know she is with our Father in heaven. We will hold fond memories of the many family celebrations we had the privilege of attending and the feasts Agnes always cooked up.
Much love,
