Augusta Mary was the 1st child of Albert and Mary and was born January 5, 1899 near Brainard, Nebraska. Augusta had five children. ReVoe Zaruba, Augusta Hill, Delvina Hill, Dennis Lee Kindler and Morris Kindler. Augusta worked in Omaha and passed away at the Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital on October 29, 1952 from a brain tumor. Augusta is buried in Garrison, Nebraska next to Dennis and Morris Kindler who both passed away as small children.
Rose was the second child born to Albert and Mary and was born December 29, 1900 near Brainard, Nebraska. Rose was married to Louis Vaughn on November 29, 1944 in Omaha, Nebraska. Rose and Lou lived in Fullerton most of their lives and had many different occupations. Rose passed away on August 8, 1988 in Fullerton. Rose and Lou are buried in Fullerton, Nebraska. Rose had no children, though Lou had a son from a prior marriage.
Lou was the 3rd child born to Albert and Mary. Louis was born September 25, 1902 near Brainard, Nebraska on the farm. On February 13, 1928 he married Clara Van De Walle at St. Anthony's church in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. Lou and Clara had one child Thomas E. "Tommy". Lou and Clara lived many years in Wichita, Kansas where Lou worked for Sears Roebuck. Lou and Clara celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 11, 1977. Lou passed away on August 21, 1985 and is buried in Wichita, Kansas.
Mary usuallly called Sue was the 4th child born to Albert and Mary. She was born September 10, 1905 in David City, Nebraska. Mary married Robert Cleo Provorse in 1928 at St. Edward, Nebraska. Mary and Robert had three sons, Robert Charles born in 1929, Albert Allen born in 1930 and Sylvester Steven born and died in 1938, (Sylvester Steven is buried in Albion (no marker). Mary married Walter Thrun in 1951 in Fullerton, Nebraska. Mary and Walter are buried in Columbus, Nebraska.
Edward was the 5th child born to Albert and Mary Zaruba. Ed was born January 14, 1907 on the farm near Brainard, Butler County, Nebraska. Ed was married first to Mildren Evelyn Turner on August 12, 1931 in Central City, Merrick County, Nebraska. Ed and Mildred and two sons Carroll and Gary. Mildred passed away January 6, 1944 and was buried in Fullerton, Nance Co., Nebraska.
Edward married again after Mildred Evelyn passed away. He married Patricia Wlaschin on December 27, 1945 in Primrose, Boone Co., Nebraska. Ed and Pat had 6 children, Theresa, Charles, Lorraine, Louise, Patrick and Kristina. Ed passed away on December 10, 1966 in Fullerton. Pat passed away October 6, 1998 in Albion, Boone Co., Nebraska. Ed and Pat are buried in the Catholic cemetery in Fullerton, Nance Co., Nebraska.
Albert was the 6th child born to Albert and Mary. Al was born February 14, 1909 on the farm near Brainard, Butler Co., Nebraska. Al married Lucille Staashelm November 28, 1934. Al and Lucille had two children, Arlen and Diane. Diane was murdered in 1958 by a jealous classmate while going to high school and living in Albion. Arlen married Karen Van Zandt and they have four sons.
Lucille passed away July 31, 1984 in Columbus, Platte Co., Nebraska. Al passed away September 15, 2005 in Grand Island, Hall Co., Nebraska. Al and Lucille are buried along with Diane in the Main Cemetery, Belgrade, Nance Co., Nebraska.
Josephine was the 7th child born to Albert and Mary. Josephine was born on the farm at Brainard, Nebraska. Josephine was married to Milford Scarlett on November 28, 1934 at Albion, Nebraska. She had one daughter Gloria Kay who married Billy Surface.
Joseph was the eighth child born to Albert and Mary (Cerny) Zaruba. Joe married Olive Burnside the daughter of Fannie Robinson and Alexander Burnside on JUne 9, 1942 at Columbus, Nebraska. They were the parents of a son Richard and a daughter Sally Jo. Richard and Linda (Larkowski) had one son Darin Zaruba who is married and living in Colorado. Sally Jo was married to James R. Stansberry on June 17, 1972 at Loveland, Colorado. Sally and Jim had two daughters Jennifer and Katherine and one son Joseph. Sally Jo died of cancer on September 27, 1997.
Joe and Olive are buried in Sunset Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Nebraska next to Olive's mother Fannie. Sally Jo's cremains were buried on the family farm south of Cedar Rapids. Richard and his wife Linda were killed in an automobile accident on June 6, 1971 and are buried at Nysted, Nebraska.
Thomas was the ninth child born to Albert and Mary (Cerny) Zaruba. Tom was married to Margaret Anna Cox, the daughter of Gilbert Morris (G.M.) Cox and Emma Peterson on April 7, 1947 at St. Edward, Nebraska. They raised three sons, Gilbert, David and Samuel. Tom passed away on June 19, 1994 at Grand Island, Nebraska and was buried in Sunset Cemetery at Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. Margaret passed away on October 31, 2012 at Columbus, Nebraska and is buried beside Tom in Cedard Rapids, Nebraska.
Robert was the tenth and last child born to Albert and Mary (Cerny) Zaruba.
