Amy's Life

Amy Carlson (Huot), born Amy Rosiewicz aged 57, of Missoula, MT passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2024. Born on August 15, 1966, in Cheboygan, MI, Amy was raised in Missoula, MT and graduated from Sentinel High School.She later pursued her passion for nursing with a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree from the University of Montana.

Amy was dedicated to advancing her career, earning her Registered Nurse (RN) degree while juggling multiple jobs and raising her two young children Adam and Hailey. Amy especially valued her years spent nursing residents in long-term care facilities, finding immense joy in making a difference in their lives. Her unwavering dedication to her career and family showcased her remarkable strength and commitment.

Outside of her professional life, Amy was a vibrant and spirited individual. She poured her energy into baking, crafting, antiquing and gardening.Amy’s home was a testament to her boundless creativity, beautifully decorated and filled with a joyful ambiance. Her infectious enthusiasm and thoughtful gestures created a warm and inviting atmosphere for family and friends.

Amy found a new spark in life when she met Tony Carlson and married him in 2014. From the moment she met Tony and his children, she embraced them as her own, creating a blended family.Amy loved planning elaborate trips or simple date nights with Tony, her favorite being weekends at the cabin on Priest Lake.

Amy’s greatest pride and joy were her children. An exceptional mother, she devoted herself to her children's happiness and success. She never missed an athletic event and was always there to support her children in pursuing their dreams. Whether celebrating big moments or simply being present, her unwavering support was a constant source of encouragement. One of Amy’s cherished traditions was attending UofM Griz games with her son Adam. Recently, Amy reveled in the excitement of her daughter Hailey’s engagement and the joy of wedding planning.

Amy leaves behind her husband, Tony Carlson, and her children, Adam Huot, Hailey Huot (fiance`Matt Mogollon), Austin Carlson, and Alex Carlson. She is also survived by one sister Linda Lewis and her three step-siblings. Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Judith and Ray Smith, and joins many other cherished family members who have passed before.


Amy's life was a testament to her unwavering strength, boundless love, and incredible dedication to her family and friends. Her warm, inviting nature and thoughtful gestures created a home where no one felt like a stranger.She will be deeply missed by all who know her, but her legacy of love and dedication will live on in our hearts forever.


A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 2nd, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the Missoula Church of the Nazarene, located at 2339 26th Ave., Missoula, MT. All are welcome to join. In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations to the Church of the Nazarene.
