Anthony "Tony" Robert Accardo passed away December 8, 2020 at AMITA Health Presence Resurrection Hospital in the loving company of his two daughters. The family offers gratitude to the medical teams at the AMITA Health Radiation Oncology Center for providing support as Tony courageously fought with strength during his six-month battle with cancer.
Tony is survived by his children, Christopher Accardo, Brittany Accardo, Dana (Christopher) Beth, and Luca Accardo; five siblings, Vincent (Cathy) Accardo, Rose (Robert) Cisarik, Frank (Karyn) Accardo, Thomas (Lora) Accardo, and Christine Accardo; partner, Nicolette Bergman; grandchildren, Travis Accardo and Brandon DiSanti, and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tony was preceded in death by loving parents, Anthony J. "Tweedo" Accardo and Concetta "Connie" "Coonge" Accardo; as well as several family members and friends.
Tony, born on June 17, 1965, was a lifetime fisherman who would rather be in a boat on the lake with his family than anywhere else. Tony will be forever known for being the life of the party with his quick sense of humor and ability to make everyone around him laugh.
In lieu of traditional services due to COVID-19, a memorial gathering will be held at a later date for Tony's family and friends.
Inspired by Tony's love for fishing, those hoping to make a gift in his honor can offer a donation to the C.A.S.T for Kids Foundation, an organization which provides special fishing trips and classes to children in need. Gifts can be made online at: www.castforkids.org.
