He was born September 11, 1934 in Marlborough, MA, the son of Lena and Joseph Ferro. He is predeceased by his first wife Bertha Simpson Ferro.

Vince graduated from Sanford High School in 1952 and was a talented football player. He received the nickname ”Gunner Ferro” for his abilities as a running back. After graduating he enlisted in the US Navy where he served from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1955. He married his sweetheart Bertha Simpson also of Sanford ME where they both worked and raised their three daughters. Vince will be remembered for many things especially his famous homemade pizza and love of playing horse shoes. Vince was a hard working machinist, a trade he learned from his father Joseph Ferro and would often go above and beyond repairing sewing machines in the homes of the ladies who worked for him in the shoe shops. For many years he enjoyed playing in a men’s softball league and in his later years he and Bertha enjoyed camping with a very special group of friends. He has been retired in Mexico for the last several years but returned every year to celebrate his birthday in the State of Maine which he always loved.

At Vince’s request there will be no service. Private burial will be in his beloved Maine. Contributions in his memory may be made to Northside Hospital, where he received loving end of life care. Donations to: Northside Hospital Forsyth Intensive Care Unit.
