The daughter of the late McKenzie and Mary Scott Hunter, Mrs. Bettis was a born in Eufaula, AL and was a 1976 graduate of Rebecca Comer High School. She was also a graduate of Chauncey Sparks State Technical College in Eufaula. She was employed with Yanfeng Automotive Interior Systems in West Point, GA. Mrs. Bettis was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Bettis.

Survivors include: her son, Tracy Philpot; a daughter, Kenyatta Facen; a brother, Kendall Hunter (Norma); four sisters, Thelma Spencer, Gwendolyn Rogers (Charles), Bontenia Ware (Eric) and Vera Gaines (Melvin); beloved aunts and uncles, Mattie Turner,, Arlena Fowler, Joseph Scott and Leroy Hunter; a host of loving and devoted nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
