This memorial website was created in memory of actor Ben Andrews, 38 years old , born on May 16, 1942 and passed away on May 13, 1981. I will remember him forever.
Ben was a television and stage actor who was probably best remembered for portraying twin brothers, Jason and Benny Tate, on the daytime soap, RETURN TO PEYTON PLACE, from 1972-1973. He did an outstanding job with this role because he really cared about being an actor. I'm sure this dedication to his profession, helped propel his career into nighttime television. He co-starred in many popular TV series in the 1970s until his final appearance in THE WALTONS in 1981.
Some of my favorites episodes were:
KODIAK (A Time To Die) Sept.27, 1974
MANNIX (Desert Sun) Dec. 1, 1974
PLANET OF THE APES (The Liberator) Dec. 6, 1974
THE NEXT STEP BEYOND (Greed) Syndicated 1978
ROCKFORD FILES (The Big Cheese) Dec. 7, 1979
THE WALTONS (The Victims) Mar.19, 1981
He was also a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army and served time in Vietnam...possibly during 1968.
If you were a friend, Army buddy or colleague of Ben's, and have stories or memories of him, I would very much appreciate you posting them on this Memorial site. Even though he's been gone a long time, we can never let his memory fade away.
Sincerely,
Sharon
