David A. Cooper, 77, of Lockport, Illinois, passed away on January 12, 2024 at Riverside Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois. He was born on September 12, 1946, in Herrin, Illinois.
David's dedication to the Chicago Cubs was unwavering, as he closely followed their games. He also had a fondness for Lockport High School, where he enjoyed watching the varsity basketball games. David found solace in the warm embrace of the sun while sitting outside during the summer months.

David is survived by his sister, Lee Ann (Steve) Verzi, his niece Jennifer (Emanuel) Hoffman, and his great nephew, Steven Hoffman. He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther, and his father, Stewart.
David's educational journey began at Central Grade School and continued at Lockport Township High School. Following his high school graduation, he embarked on a career at Caterpillar, where he dedicated many years of service. Upon retiring, David found fulfillment as a school bus aide.
A memorial service to honor David's life will be held at a later date.
