Her Life

Viewing the Thompson Memorial

June 6, 2017

As a visitor to the Holladay Cemetery, I wanted to introduce the Thompson family to this wonderful website called Forever Missed.  I discovered it over two years ago and have been adding stories of my past family members ever since.  I know of no other website offering such a caring and beautiful way for family members to share their love and remberance of past relatives.

Your beautiful sculptured bronze memorial, is now ready to help you share the Thompson's life story better than any printed book, using pictures, audio, video and allowing direct access on any smartphone.

Your story is waiting to be told.

Here's a sample of what my wife and I are planning for her mother, at Sandy City Cemetery.

I would be delighted to help you get started.

Deborah Lee Clark Thompson 1950 ~ 2009

If you thought you saw the light of our bright planet wink dim for just an instant, you were right. Our precious wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend passed away on November 4, 2009 from complications associated with liver and kidney failure. She was the sun that lit up our lives. How do you record the life of one who was so loving and giving? Debbie was born of goodly parents, Wilson D. (Wid) and Bernice Clark on November 3, 1950. She was nurtured by loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins until she blossomed into one of those extremely rare individuals who brightened the lives of all she touched, and she touched many. Including: fellow students at Olympus High School where she graduated in 1969; classmates at the University of Utah where she graduated in 1973; associates of Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus where she sang for 8 years; students, faculty and parents from Oakridge Elementary School where she taught for 34 years; Latterday Saints of all ages, especially those living in the Mt Olympus Stake where she resided for 30 years of married life; brothers and sister, Dennis Clark (Pat), Robert Clark (Connie), Joanne Clark Roth (Kerry), her dear husband Bruce Thompson whom she married March 8, 1979 in the Salt Lake Temple; children, John Thompson (Kendra), Alisa Thompson Cooper (Ryan), Mary Thompson Burns (Jeff); grandchildren Dane, Samantha, Ty, Ashley; and countless others along the way. Many thanks go out to the doctors, nurses, CNA's and staff at the Intermountain Medical Center Hospital, Wasatch Dialysis, and Holiday Care Center where they tried valiantly to sustain Debbie's life. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 9th, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in theMt.Olympus 1st Ward located at 4635 S. Lanark Rd. inSalt Lake City. A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 8th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cottonwood Mortuary, located at4670 Highland Drive in Holladay and in theMt.Olympus 1st Ward building an hour before the funeral services.
