His Life
July 12, 2017

Born in Columbus, GA, Mr. Elder was the son of Mrs. Martha Surles Elder Fields of Columbus and the late David Elder. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Holliman. Donald attended Spencer High School and earned his GED in 1969. Donald married his soulmate, Linda in June of 1972 and their union was blessed with two children, Donald, Jr. and Tasha. He was a truck driver for over 45 years. He retired from Golden Foundry after 17 years of service. He will be remember for his smile, laughter and jokes. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, loved sports and dominos, and honestly spoke what was on his mind.

Those left to cherish his memories are: his wife, Linda Elder; a son, Donald Elder, Jr. (Jerri); one daughter, Tasha Elder Sellers (Marquet); two granddaughters, A'More and R'mone Sellers; his mother, Martha Surles Elder Fields; a brother, Benjamin Elder (Ruby); three sisters, Sue Howard, Georgia Bledsoe and Millie Binder; loving in-laws, Shirley Branch, Phyllis Jones, Annette Griffin (Wayne) and Neal Branch; a devoted friend, Larry "Fat" Stephens; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
