His Life

The son of the late Lonie Richardson and Eula K. Hunter Adkins, Rev. Richardson was born in Omaha, GA and was a graduate of William H. Spencer High School. He was a member of Mt. Mariah Baptist Church in Omaha, and was a U. S. Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam Conflict. Rev. Richardson received his Bachelor of Bible Philosophy at Columbia University and Master's and Doctorate degrees from Andersonville Baptist Seminary School. He has served as Pastor at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Smiths, AL, and Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church in Opelika, AL. He currently served as pastor of Price Road Community Baptist Church in Phenix City. He was a songwriter and manager of the Legendary Five Trumpets of Columbus. He was retired from Columbus Foundries.

He was preceded in death by four siblings, Willie and Henry Richardson, Eula K. Hunter and Fannie Folkes. Survivors include: his wife of 49 years, Katherine Taylor Richardson; two sons, Dannie Taylor and Cleteus Richardson (Kogie); a daughter, Joy Heard (Marquis); six grandchildren, Turkessa, Genesis, Obadiah, Allison, Malcolm (Amber), and Myisha; four great grandchildren, Akeriah, McKenzie and Jace; two brothers, John Richardson and Robert Adkins (Jocelyn), two sisters, Susie Mae Richardson and Zella Cochran; in-laws, Joe Taylor (Grace), Willie Taylor (Barbara) and Anna Johnson (Bobby); loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
