Looking back to our medical school days in Uniben, I can picture you always together with your friend fatai- both fondly called longus and Brevis,

I can't believe that the last time I spoke to you during the funding raising for our medical class 30th reunion will really be the last,

Mediben class of 91 group is getting “emptier” with your passage,

Because you were a devote Christian even during our teenage and young adult years , I know that we will see you again,

You will forever be missed; Uniben medical class of 91 will never feel complete ,

In our mind and in our heart, you'll always be “in class “ with us,

In can never forget the unique way you used to call my name - Ezechieeeh ,

Adieu Wilson Longus Idami.

Every life touched by this rare gem of a man has been changed in a profound way. It was an honor to have Dr Idami as a mentor. His willingness to ensure that he offered the information he possessed that aided others in achieving their goals and realizing their dreams was a unique quality that will be missed. He has lived a life of humility and integrity. He will be missed, my prayers are with his family during this most difficult time may you find comfort in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Dr Idami rest in eternal peace my brother.

Wilson was my dear friend and classmate. He did everything he could to draw me into the membership of the Uniben Christian union back in those days.
Whenever he sang the solo in the Christian Union choir alongside Rita another classmate of ours I usually felt heaven come down. He was so gifted.
Wilson was my reading mate alongside Nona J, Julie, Zacchy and Alex Atamah. He always helped out with pneumonics to help us retain things so as to pass exams.
Post Uniben, Wilson and I have kept in touch. He visited me with his family when he visited Nigeria. He has kept urging me to relocate to Canada. He sent me the huge Toronto notes and kept checking on me to make sure I was reading them and getting ready to take the Canadian exams.
To be writing this tribute is so painful and so difficult! There’s so much to say yet I lack the right words.
I will miss you Wilson my dear friend and brother and mentor all in one.
Class of 91 will surely miss you. O! How I wish you had turned up for the Dubai reunion or even the recent Lagos reunion in November 2021.
Chai! It’s so painful to say goodbye! May God rest your beautiful soul. Amen.
May God comfort Bose and your children and all your family in Jesus name amen.

Dr. Idami thank you for being my physician for the last several years. I will miss our conversations and the way you would listen whenever I was in your office. Thank you for helping me through a difficult time, I will eternally be grateful. It's not too often you find a Doctor that makes you feel comfortable and that cares deeply about his patients. You were taken too soon but I find solace in knowing you are with our Heavenly Father. You will be deeply missed. My deepest condolences to your beautiful family. May you hold tight to your memories always. God Bless.

This is numbing. I saw Wilson last in 1991 when he served as a music minister in Christian Union, University of Benin. He was a consistent person and he went about his duty to the body quietly and dutifully. Consistent is what defined him to me.
Later I learnt he was in Namibia and now, this.
I am moved that this is how Wilson departs. It tells of the temporariness of life on earth and the tragedy it is of we have no life and meaning elsewhere after here.
The comfort is that Wilson died in hope and we agree with Apostle Paul that of him, death is gain insofar as for you, to live was Christ.
God bless you Wilson for being consistent in Benin. That's the word that defines you to me. I know you now sing with the angels.

A great person gone too soon is a tragedy but what would have been worse is never to have met a noble man like you. I am grateful to have had the opportunity of knowing someone as kind, calm, generous, thoughtful, and easy going as you. When one of the greatest of us leaves us through death, we feel cheated in life and life as we know it doesn't always play fair.

Tears flow freely over your transition to eternal glory but weeping for eternity would not convey the depths of our feelings of your passing. The love you shared with us will remain enduring forever.

Farewell Doctor, enjoy your well deserved place amongst the Council of Angels.

I remember when I first met him and his wife; during our conversation, he said when you spend 5yrs in this country without solid foundation, it will be very had to achieve your gold, I was just 2years plus in Canada than, that word keeps ringing in my head and that was the day I had a turned around. He was my sauce of inspiration. it had that calm nature, very friendly personality which sets him above others. Continue to Rest In Peace Dr. Idami and pray God almighty to give your family the strength to bear the loss.

My heart sunk, hearing you have gone to glory.
we worked together in the CU Uniben/Ubth in 1989/90 while I was the Organising secretary and you were the Publisity secretary, it’s always a cherished memory, you did your best despite your busy schedule as a medical student, and we never met again after we left school until June 2018 at Sheraton hotel at Niagara Falls with Foluso Ola. I had hope I will see you again this year but….
Sleep well my brother, till we meet again at the feet of our Lord and Master Jesus Christ.
