Rob & Ellie meet on the train to the 1958 Ohio State Rose Bowl trip. Ellie would would not have anything to do with me, because I was a pledge and she was a junior. The fraternity that l belonged to required your grades from your second quarter of your sophomore year to go active. After Ellie graduated she moved To Dayton Rob's home town to start teaching. She got a apartment with her best friend Nancy Turner (Bachman). Rob would come home to date Ellie. We would triple date with Nancy with my cousin John and my father. I proposed to her that year. We married June 25 and started our life together in California .
I met Ellie about 20 years ago and it was instant like for both of us. I loved her stories of her family and the adventures she and Rob went on. I do not ever remember her not smiling. She was a good friend and I will miss her dearly.
Dan and I have so many happy memories of times with Eleanor...for me, it all started when she was 10 years old, and I was 15...I met Dan's little sister...and I had never had a little sister before..so it was fun, going to movies together, Sunday dinner, family picnics and many other good times....then when Rob came into the picture, that was great, too, as we've shared stories, holidays and vacations....living many miles apart has made it a little more difficult....but the wonderful memories of that "little sister" will always be in my heart!
