I only knew Esther and Neil from church - never had the opportunity to be a part of their private life. They always came in the building with the sweetest smiles; I couldn't help loving them. Esther was the perfect example of the "Noble Wife" described in the last chapter of Proverbs. I especially like the description: "She is worth far more than rubies." I miss her...

Esther was a caring nurse. I remember having my leg propped up and a round floor fan keeping me cool as Esther kept me comfortable after getting my foot caught in the spokes of bike wheel. Esther always had a spring in her step and smile on her face. David Franklin

Dear Neil and Family:
I will forever cherish the memories of camping, fishing and, of course, the fish fries at your home. Esther was a wonderful person and we will miss her. Please know you are very much in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be…

So he put his arms around you
and whispered,
"Come to Me"

With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away

Although we love you dearly, we could not make you stay

A Golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best

The Tea Party
I was sitting with Mama one evening a few days before her passing. It was midnight and Ken came in for his shift. "We're going to have a Tea Party" he said. We drank tea from 3 of her prized teacups, at her bedside. She raised her cup and toasted us with a familiar twinkle in her eye. Thank you Ken for that very special memory

I remember Esther for many things, probably first as the mother of the little red haired girl next door, who could throw rocks even in a clean little white dress and then the celebrated bride for my bachelor uncle,  but also for many more simple things like a tuna sandwich on brown bread with butter, passed thru a screen door of the house in Salida or the Chex mix at Christmas,  which James loved.

Working a garage sale for the McGoldricks . Esther was there working with us but she brought the best cookies I have ever had. I told Esther I would like the receipe. At the end of the second day, I was getting in my car to go home and there was the cookie receipe attached to plate full of those wonderful cookies. Esther's kindness was special and so very generous. Will miss her.

Did you know my mother was a poet? an artist? a fisherman? That she made up jokes, limericks and riddles? Did you know she liked word puzzles, camping and photography? Thats ok, most of these things I just discovered about her this morning while unpacking old memories! Do you know her in a way we might not have as a loving mother wife and grandmother? Leave us a story, memory , or photo.

Esther was my Mom in all ways. She was always kind, gentle and caring. She gave me recipes (which I could never duplicate. My favorite was berry cobbler) and was always cutting articles out of the newspaper or magazines for me. I will truly miss her.
