Gerald (Gere) is survived by: his spouse of 33 years, Julie Turner Godfrey; his children Jordan Godfrey Stanley (David) and Jared Turner Godfrey; 1 grandchild, Taylor-Ann Stanley; his parents, Dr. Gerald Edward Godfrey Sr. and Jacqueline White Godfrey; his sister, Melisonde Godfrey; and many wonderful in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Gerald was an outdoor enthusiast who was a loving spouse, father, “Papa G”, and son.
He was a member of Church of the Highlands Greystone. The service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30 at The Chapel at Grants Mill Church of the Highlands campus at 4700 Highlands Way. A celebration of life will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oak Mountain Mission Ministry or to The Shelby County Humane Society.
