It
is with great sorrow that the family of Gregg Alan Edelman announces his sudden
passing on March 25th 2020, at the age of 54 in his Virginia home. Born
in New Jersey, to Dolores and the late Marvin Edelman, on April 28th
1965. He grew up in the Merchantville area where he attended and graduated from
Pennsauken High School, during which time he began his boxing career as “The
Zion Lion.” Though it was somewhat short lived, he made many life long friends
and loved following in his father’s footsteps. In his later years, he resided in
Ventnor, where he developed his love for golf— he played every chance he could.
He also worked as a bartender there for much of his life and always bragged about
his skills up until his passing. Gregg later became a card dealer and began
working in casinos, Parx Philadelphia and MGM National Harbor, which he enjoyed
very much. He was such a people person and loved interacting with people. His
smile and laugh were contagious— he would light up any room that he walked
into. Anyone who knew Gregg knew that making fun of you was his favorite way to
show he cared. He had a heart unlike any other. He loved fiercely, but there
was no love greater than the love he had for his daughter, Haley. She was the
absolute light of his life. He is also survived by his mother, siblings [Ronald
(Julia), Lori (Danny), Scott (Merle), and Gale] and nieces and nephews
[Rachael, Rebekah, Lauren (Nick), Jessica (Aaron), Alex, Lisa (Michael), Aidan,
Solomon, and Dylan]. Funeral services will be private due to the pandemic, but
a memorial will be held at a later date to celebrate Gregg’s life.
