The funeral service will be held Friday, January 15, 2021. The visitation will begin at 10:00am with service following at 11:00am at United Missionary Baptist Church.
Helena Lee Ingram, at the age of 88 years, 4 months, and 4 days, gained her wings on December 30, 2020 and now rests in her Heavenly home.
She was born August 26, 1932 to the late Rev. Cecil and Lena (Kuykendall) Carson in Morgantown, Kentucky. Helena was preceded in death by her son, Leroy Rodgers II, daughter in law, Brenda Davenport Rodgers and granddaughter, Brittany Davenport and several siblings.
She was a faithful member of United Missionary Baptist Church where she served as president of the Deaconess Ministry, she was a Sunday School Teacher for the Scholars class and she served on the Finance Ministry until her health began to decline. Helena enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and reading the Bible. She truly enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends as she cherished the memories over the years. She truly will be missed by all who knew and loved her dearly.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories: One daughter, Wanda Rodgers-Nevins, Morgantown, KY; two sons Michael Rodgers of Sioux Falls, SD and Ricardo (Yolanda) Travino, Dayton, OH; five grandchildren Tara Clayton, Sioux Falls, SD; Curtis D. Nevins, Tiasia Travino, Tiania Travino, all of Dayton, OH, Christian Travino, Tempe, AZ; former daughter-in-law Gail Travino, Tempe, AZ; sister Esther (Fred) McCoy, Dayton, OH and sister-in-law Dora Carson, of Blue Springs, Missouri. Six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews.
