The daughter of Hall and Lillie Williams Harris, Mrs. Rucker was a native of Columbus and a graduate of William H. Spencer High School. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 30 years, her last tenure being at Martin Army Community Hospital. She was a member of Greater Shady Grove Baptist Church where she served with the Mother's Board, and was also an Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William O'dell Rucker, and siblings, Mary Roberts, Lillian Dirke, Julia Graham and Charles Harris.

Survivors include: a son, Vincent W. Rucker (Lora); a daughter, Valerie Rucker; six grandchildren, Allison Rucker, Eocsori Rucker, Vincent Rucker, II, Raechel Rucker, Zachary Rucker(Kecia) and Roscoe Rucker; five great grandchildren, Zachary, Jr., Zaysha, Zakyiah, Zykee and Alleah; loving nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
