Found out the news this morning. I'm truly gutted and don't know what to say. All I can say is he was the best person to have fun with and was always there for you and loved by all. Kate we never met but my heart goes out to you and especially the kids. Be strong xxxx

I only came to know Ivan through the Board of Directors at Bishops Stortford Golf Club over the last 18 months. Even in that short amount of time Ivan lit up my life with his infectious smile, amazing wit, drive to improve and supreme intelligence - I came to count on him as a friend. The world is a horrible place sometimes and is far poorer today without Ivan in it. I am so sad for his family and friends and gutted that I could not have spent more time in the presence of this man or known him earlier in my own life - Much Love to the family - Tim Palmer

I only met Ivan and Kate once at a quiz night in Bishops Stortford with Andy and Muriel. He was a very nice man and I am sure his passing will leave a hole in many people's lives. Thinking of all of you who are grieving at this time.

Ivan, we will miss you! You're such a fun guy to work with. I remember we were in Chicago having meeting when I announced I was pregnant, and you said that's the best news of the day! Around 5 years ago, you were in HK transiting to China to get medical treatment, and four years ago, you were here again and we had dinner with the Corbis team! Can't believe you're gone! And you even commented on my post on FB three weeks ago, not showing any sign of pain and sadness! You're such a fighter! I'm sure you had no regrets in your life! Kate, my love to you, Olivia, Scarlett and Lucas!

You truly left such a mark on the world and on those whom you met. Kate, Lucas, Scarlett and Olivia, your husband and father was a giant among men and we could all take a leaf out of his book. Sorely missed by all and will never be forgotten.

It is with great sadness to hear that Ivan has passed away, especially at such a young age. Having known him from his rugby days, I always thought of him as a man of generous heart and soul, who lived life fully.
My heart goes out to his family for their loss, and all those that helped share his pain towards the end.

I remember the first day I arrived at my new job where Ivan was the boss. I was dressed all smart and ready for a new challenge. When my manager introduced me to Ivan he said 'nice to meet you, lose the tie.' What an absolute legend and an inspirational leader.

I like many people have so many great memories and wonderful anecdotes about Ivan. Ivan's personality and positivity rubbed off on everyone who he came into contact with. Even though I haven't seen Ivan for a while he will be greatly missed whether in person or on FB or Instagram.

Ivan and I were nothing like each other, he was confident, ambitious, driven,successful and I'm a miserable sod who has never known what to do for a living. Those characteristics of his are usually those of people I don't like, but people who know me at all will know if you are going to get through my barriers and make it as a friend you either have to be interesting and tell me things I don't already know or make me laugh. Ivan was one of the rare breed that fell into both camps. A dear friend who spurred me on to be better, every time I met him I felt like I had to tell him something new, tell him of a success, or make him laugh because I knew he would do the same. I will miss our conversations about politics, sport, food, life the universe and everything.
A funny, generous, interesting friend and I will miss your company forever.

I can't believe that, I just read your last message on skype few weeks ago, and I haven't see anything strange, you have been good in hide your pain :) Ok so let me see what's the best memory ... Cannes, having a drink on la Croisette. Wow that was life and you were full of life! I only regret we won't ski together, but I do hope you are now skiing like crazy. Ciao Big Jim ! I'm not sure what to write, other than to say that to say goodbye to such a great character and personality is very hard. I hadn't seen him for some years but I know that Ivan is someone whose life should always be celebrated. I hope that his family can do that in time to come, and have no doubt that everyone who knew him will always remember a bundle of energy, zest for life and strength. Dear Kate and family, you don't know me, but I was at the Weald with Ivan all those years ago. Firm friendships made with many people who will miss Ivan terribly. Ivan made the trip to Billingshurst last year for a fab meet up of some of the old lot at the Limeburner. I hadn't seen Ivan for years but we all just took up where we left off, and he radiated happiness talking about the family he clearly adored. A life well-lived and lived to the full. Shine on you crazy diamond.

It is a small crumb of comfort to remember that you crammed more life into your 47 years than most people who live to be 100. I was lucky to be able to share some of it with you.

You have been the best friend anyone could have wished for and so brave to go through what you have.

Things won't be the same without you mate.

Don't hold back, you never did. Give them the full Elvis show up there.

What tragic news:-(
Ivan was 1 year older than me - I first met him when I took the leap of faith & changed my career from a carpenter in Liverpool to a Cruise Ship Entertainer.
Ivan was a fantastic man & he & I had many laughs as he taught me all I needed to know about standing up in front of an audience & being myself.
He was a success in everything that he turned his hand too.

Shocked and saddened to hear the news about Ivan and my heart goes out to his family as I know he'll be sorely missed. When I joined Imagebank everyone spoke about how great this chap Ivan was and when I finally got to work with him at Corbis I understood what the fuss was about. He was a great motivator and always made time for people. RIP.

I was introduced to Ivan at the golf club when I was looking for work. He was generous in both time and knowledge . I only knew Ivan's successes and challenges through others. On the course or over a coffee the conversation was of family and mostly nonsense ! A guy that lived for every second and a guy I'm very glad I got to meet. My thoughts are with all of his family and friends. See you for a round again mate.

My thoughts go out to you and your family Kate. Ivan was my boss at The Image Bank, I remember how at ease he put a nervous 17/18 year old in my interview there. He was a great character and a great guy to work for. I know from the kind of man he was he will be missed by many many people. Rest in peace Ivan. Rachel x

I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity last summer to catch up with Kate and Ivan over dinner and drinks at a little gastronomy pub by their home. It had been years since I had seen them, but was immediately welcomed with a hug, a Pimm’s Cup and that infectious smile. 

I will forever remember Ivan for his authenticity, adventurous spirit, confidence and caring nature. He seemed to have a remarkable ability to live life a little fuller than most of the rest of us…

Kate, Olivia, Scarlett and Lucas were clearly the center of his world – and my heart hurts for the loss that they must be feeling today. He was a remarkable husband, father, friend, mentor and man that will be sorely missed by every life he touched.

I first met Ivan while working at Corbis. He always had time for you and an eternal optimistic outlook. Oh Kate, my heart is breaking. I never had a colleague that inspired friendship like Ivan. He's been so generous and supportive with us at Corbis and beyond. We are all lucky to have shared some of his life, because he made those moments bigger and inspiring. These will stay forever with me. My Love goes to you and your children. I know the joy you brought to him since he met you and in these last difficult years.

So many broken hearts right now for such a brave, inspiring and generous man who has been so cruely taken away from his loving family and friends.
We only knew Ivan for a few years but in those years we shared some really good times and will cherish those memories- especially those precious days we shared with Kate, Ivan, Olivia, Scarlett and Lucas in Ibiza over the summer. Thank you x

I am sad.
And I´m struggling to find the right words. There is no doubt that Ivan was a stunning person! Why do I say this though I´ve „just“ worked in the same firm with him for a couple of years and not even in the same department or hierarchy? Because he´s shined into my office even without having a direct work relationship. Also his presence in Düsseldorf was always a positive event for everybody - even without having an official event. He had such a brilliance, radiance and charisma — he will always continue to shine - and even more bright. My deepest sympathy for you Kate and the kids and family.

Rest in peace cousin. You are admirable in how you managed this awful disease with your strength and courage. You achieved more in your short life than most of us will ever do and that is a lesson to us all.  A new star is in the sky .....Victoria and Simon
