www.lusain.com James Stewart Collins was born on September 13, 1947, the 5th son of loving parents Mr. Miles Collins, Sr. and Mrs. Mable B. Collins in Birmingham, Alabama.
James accepted Christ at a very early age attending an AOH Church of God and later joining Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Birmingham. In 2007 he would go on to find and settle into his final church congregation and family at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Birmingham, Alabama where he was known to be a very active member.
“Uncle James” as he was affectionately called began his early education at Washington Elementary School and later finishing at A.H. Parker High School in 1967. He left home and traveled abroad early on, eventually gaining employment with Barnum and Bailey, as well as other similar employers in the Family Entertainment Industry that would ultimately take him all over the United States. After settling in Miami, Florida he eventually became a Court Bailiff in the Miami-Dade County Court System. James resided several more years in Miami until he returned to Birmingham in 2006, after surviving a life altering gunshot robbery while at work, to be cared for by his loving family.
James is preceded in death by his Father – Mr. Miles Collins, Sr.; Mother – Mrs. Mable B. Collins (Harris); and Brothers – Mr. Paul Collins, Sr.; Mr. John Sanford Collins and Mr. Miles Collins, Jr.
He is survived by his Loving Siblings – Mrs. Gwendolyn Williams; Mrs. Yolanda Collins- Johnson (James) and Mr. Allen Collins and sister-in-law, Celestine Collins. He will also be missed by his beloved Niece/Caregiver/Best friend - Mrs. Deborah Collins-Woods (Sammy); Nephew – Mr. Kenneth Collins (Tammie); Great – Nieces and Nephews - Ms. Charmaine McDay; Mrs. Marie Lusain-Daniels (JL); Mr. Phil Gray (Marnett) and a large host of nieces, nephews and friends.
