On behalf of your friends and colleagues at Taft, I'm sending our deepest and most heartfelt condolences for this devastating and tragic loss. We are thinking of you and keeping you and your families close to our hearts.

Damn Jay, it’s been over 1 week since I heard the news of your untimely passing and I still can’t believe this is true. I’m still trying to process it. When I heard the news, I was shocked, confused and heartbroken. I couldn’t believe it.

You were truly a great friend and roommate since we met back in 2000 at the University of Miami. So many great times and memories down there in Florida. Even after we all graduated, we still stayed friends and communicated a few times a year especially when it came to fantasy football season. Somehow, every season came down to either you or me in the championship game. Fantasy football will never be the same without you.

You would always send me a family Christmas card every holiday season. It was beautiful to see how much you loved your daughter and wife and it was always great to see pics of your family on IG.

We finally met up again in person when you attended my wedding last year in New York. It was great seeing you and catching up with you. Even at the afterparty, we spent a good 45 min just talking and catching up. The last thing we said was that we had to hang out more often since we were only a few hours away from each other. I’m gonna miss you brother.

My heartfelt condolences to your wife, daughter and your entire family. You were truly a great person and you will be missed.

I still can’t fathom writing this. 10 days ago we were at the pool scheduling our next parties and get together. We had that understood rule that I got Halloween, Stu got the November Pumpkin Beer and you got Christmas… That day once again we all talked about how we’ll never move and basically be friends forever… I’ve never seen you without a smile on your face and you were the best karaoke partner, especially with our 90’s songs. We all miss you and promise to be there for Emmie and Kiana who you loved dearly and showed it every single day.

Jay - Someone said living is not the same without you. I can't say that any better. Your big smile and positive energy is something I will never forget. I am so lucky to have known you and will treasure our time together over the past three years. One story I still find myself laughing at is that time we went to the driving range to hit golf balls. You said it had been a while but when your hands turned black from the old grips on the clubs, we realized, damn, you are a bit rusty and so are your clubs. You always had a enviable humor that just put a smile on my face. Miss you bud.

Jay was a consummate gentleman.  May precious memories of Jay sustain you through this difficult period.
