I met Jack while on storm duty @ PECO many moons ago & he took me under his wing showing me some of the ropes- even of stuff on his 3 big monitors that didn't mean a thing to me :) He was so full of knowledge and was always a wonderful kind soul to talk to. We played the powerball in a group when it was a big amt & I was in Plymouth for one reason or another. I always stayed in touch with him via email, IM, phone or text. I recently met him back in July (I think) over at ACE in Mays Landing. He came in specifically to ensure I could get in and show me where I could plant to get my computer connected to the network so I could connect with the Help Desk. We talked for a few hrs there and he reiterated how he was taking his vacation time (all planned out) and then retiring. I still didn't believe he was going to do it even though I knew later in Oct that he talked to HR. I always expected him to come back after and NEVER expected this. He mentioned how he specifically worked the first week of Oct to ensure he would be eligible for AIP in March. Guy was SOOOO smart!!!! He knew everything!!! He was looking forward to spending extra time in Ocean City with the family after his shoulder surgery(think it was shoulder). He was always full of stories of where he went with his family.... he even convinced me to go to Canada to see the Falls by talking about his trips. Talked about his skiing with Woodsy (another great soul missed). I loved how he was always laughing, joking and was just an infectious happy dude. I truly thoroughly enjoyed talking with Jack and often inquired with him on things. I still have all of his last IM's on my computer. I recently had a drink to him with some others from Exelon & we had no idea that he wasn't well. This is how much he is just adored by everyone! I am SO terribly saddened to have gotten the text that he had passed and will miss being able to talk to him. I hope and pray for you- his family- that you can all find comfort in all of your memories with him. I'm so sorry for your loss!
May God be with all of you and may you rest in peace Millsie!
What a fitting song to choose to this also!!!! Gone, definitely too soon!!!!
