Joseph Raleigh Jennings was born in Jonesboro, Craighead, Arkansas on August 16, 1921. He died in West Hills, Los Angeles, California on April 1, 2015, aged 93. Joe was a renowned art director and production designer, best known for his contributions to the Star Trek franchise. For his work on Star Trek: The Motion Picture, he was nominated for an Academy Award in 1980. He also received two Emmy nominations. Joe was married to Jean, who outlived him and passed away in 2018, aged 99. Together they had a son.
