Joy (JoAnn) Brogden Teasley, 77, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Duke Regional Hospital after an unexpected illness. She left this world to be with her beloved son, Thomas Teasley, Jr.
A lifetime resident of Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Goldie and Jim Brogden. Joy was a graduate of Kennedy’s Business College and was employed at Rhodes Furniture for 43 years. She was of the Baptist faith and was an inactive member of Olive Grove Baptist Church. Joy was a talented seamstress and enjoyed embroidering and sewing. She was extremely proud of her three grandsons and enjoyed spending time with them, family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Eakes Funeral Home Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Drew Grumbles. Burial will follow the service at South Granville Memorial Gardens in Stem.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Thomas Teasley, her loving daughter, Vickie Preddy (Jeff) and three handsome grandchildren, Harrison, Carter and Jackson Preddy. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy, Raymond and Aubrey Brogden, and a sister, Dorothy Stephenson.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, February 28, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at the home.
