Alabaster, AL - Judith Ann Crandall Arnold (Julie), 81, passed away on June 29, 2024.  Julie was born in Lima, Ohio on April 29, 1943.   Due to her father being drafted in the war, she and her mother moved to South Dakota to live with her mother’s family.  She lived most of her childhood in South Dakota and later moved to Alabama where she graduated from John Carroll Catholic High School in 1961.  She attended Sacred Heart college in Cullman, AL and graduated with an associates degree.
Julie spent years as an assistant teacher to 2nd graders at Joyner Elementary in Tupelo, MS.  She was extremely involved at St. James Catholic Church in Tupelo where she taught religious education classes to children.  Over the years, Julie dedicated herself to numerous prayer groups, making them her true passion.  She loved to read and was an active member of her book club.  She enjoyed volunteering for the Laura Crandall Brown Foundation and Food for the Journey.  She found immense joy in gardening and bird feeding.
Survivors include her children - Kate Hebert (Jacques), Dr. Robert Arnold (Patricia), Jo Ann Arnold, Ginger Ferrell (Brian) and step-daughter, Paige Arnold; grandchildren - Haley Dixon (Taylor), Jake Hebert, Esteban Arnold, Jack, Ben and Sally Kate Ferrell; great-grandchildren Joseph, Paul & Elizabeth Dixon; sister, Rachel Sizemore, brother Jim Crandall (Cecilia) and several nieces and nephews.
