Her Life

man on the flying trapeze

May 26, 2017
Once I was happy, but now I'm forlorn,
Like an old coat that is tattered and torn;
 Left in this wide world o weep and to mourn,
 Betrayed by a maid in her teens.

 Now this girl that I loved, she was handsome,
 And I tried all I knew, her to please,
 But I never could please her one quarter so well
 As the man on the flying trapeze.

 Oh, he floats through the air with the greatest of ease,
 This daring young man on the flying trapeze;
His actions are graceful, all girls he does please,
 My love he has purloined away.

He'd play with a miss like a cat with a mouse,
His eyes would undress every girl in the house.
 Perhaps he is better described as a louse,
 But the people they came just the same.

 Oh, he'd smile from his perch on the people below
 And one day he smiled on my love.
 She blew him a kiss and she hollered, "Bravo!"
 As he hung by his nose up above.

Oh, he floats through the air with the greatest of ease,
 This daring young man on the flying trapeze;
 His actions are graceful, all girls he does please,
 My love he has purloined away.

 Oh, I wept and I whimpered, I simpered for weeks,
 While she spent her time with the circus's freaks.
 The tears were like hailstones that rolled down my cheeks,
 Alas, and alack, and alacka!

I went to this fellow, the blackguard, and said,
 "I'll see that you get your desserts!
" He put up his thumb to his nose with a sneer,
 He sneered once again, and said, "Nertz!"

 Oh, he floats through the air with the greatest of ease,
 This daring young man on the flying trapeze;
His actions are graceful, all girls he does please,
 My love he has purloined away.

 One night to his tent he invited her in,
 He filled her with compliments, kisses, and gin
 And started her out on the road to ruin,
 Since then l have known no repose.

 But e'en now l loved her, I said,
 "Take my name! I'll gladly forgive and forget;
" She rustled her bustle without any shame,
Saying, "Well, maybe later, not yet.

" Oh, he floats through the air with the greatest of ease,
 This daring young man on the flying trapeze;
His actions are graceful, all girls he does please,
 My love he has purloined away.

One night as usual I went to her home,
 And found there her father and mother alone,
 I asked for my love and it soon was made known,
 To my horror, that she'd run away.

 Without any trousseau she'd fled in the night
With him with the greatest of ease,
From two stories high he'd lowered her down
To the ground on his flying trapeze.

Oh, he floats through the air with the greatest of ease,
 This daring young man on the flying trapeze;
 His actions are graceful, all girls he does please,
 My love he has purloined away.

 Some months after that I went into a hall,
 And to my surprise,I found there on the wall,
 A bill in red letters which did my heart gall,
That she was appearing with him.

 Oh, he'd taught her gymnastics, and dressed her in tights,
 To help him to live at his ease,
 He'd made her take on a masculine name,
 And now she goes on the trapeze.

 Oh, she floats through the air with the greatest of ease,
You'd think her a man on the flying trapeze,
She does all the work while he takes his ease,
 And that's what's become of my love.

Louise after undergoing lung surgery would legitimately comment on her difficulty performing daily tasks after her operation. Well over time this became more and more a means for humour especially for us who were still at home with Louise; herself succumbing to the nature of the joke. "Oh, my operation."

Louise having been a mother of eight as all us parents can attest to was given to worrying for her children. Well, when she started to work at the VA hospital in Roxbury she worked for Dr Rossea who headed the Quadriplegic unit. Well the next several years were replete with " be careful you will get a spinal cord injury" no matter the severity of your endeavor. We can make light of the situation, only because we were blessed not to have had to endure such a tragedy.

Louise Suzanne (Kessler) (Wyman) Goldberg, age 90, formerly of Canton, MA went to be with the Lord on Saturday May 6, 2017.

 Louise was born August 9th 1926 Louise Suzanne Kessler at home in Canton Massachusetts to the late Joseph and Mary (Tabor) Kessler. She was the seventh child of a loving family of nine; she was predeceased by all her siblings, Helen Wagner of Canton, Marion McKenna of Canton, Rose Tuite of Hingham, Marie Cummings of Milo, ME, Walter Kessler of Canton, Edward Kessler of Canton, Joseph Kessler of Canton, except her dearest little brother John Kessler of Needham, Ma.

 Louise lived through the great depression. She graduated from St John’s High School in Canton before leaving for Washington D.C. in 1944 where she served the US government Intelligence Dept. during World War Two and subsequently met her late husband, Lawrence P. Wyman.

 Louise  affectionately called "Weezie" by her sons and "Schmidtzie" by her brothers was a housewife and mother of eight, Treasurer of Altomac Corp in Canton, ran the successful Wyman Real Estate business in Canton, helped run numerous political campaigns, was a published author for several magazines, and assisted several authors in writing and editing books. During the 70’s after enduring some personal struggles, her life was altered like Saul on the road to Damascus with a spiritual awakening of being “born again” with the knowledge of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Luke 15;24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate. John 3:3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.

Louise found love and happiness too in her later years with the late Max Goldberg whom she married in 1982.

Louise was known for her unselfish example of love and devotion to Christ and everyone she came in contact with.  Her unwavering caring and kindness as witnessed by her determination with the help of her close friend Jean Arnao she rehabilitated her son Bob after returning from the Vietnam War debilitated by mortar fire.  She likewise tenderly cared for Max through cancer. She joyfully served as Grammy daycare to many of her grandchildren.

Louise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Though the last seven years she was incapacitated by the onset of Alzheimer’s she continued to be an inspiration. She considered her family to be the greatest blessing in her life after her personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Louise had 8 children; the late Lawrence Jr Wyman , Velma Coffey Casher of Bridgewater, Bob Wyman of Brockton, Gregory Wyman of Canton, Mary Salois of Woonsocket, RI,  Mark Wyman of Canton, Stephen Wyman of Brockton, and Brent Wyman of Walpole.   She is also survived by her granddaughter whom she called her “9th child” Stacey (Wyman) Murphy of Sterling in addition,Philip Coffey of Bridgewater, Dawn Crouch of Crowley, Texas, Robert Wyman Jr of Brockton, Lauren Wyman of Brockton, Robbie Phillips  of Vermont, Tanya Mendlewitz of Canton, Melisa DeShiro of Dedham, Mackenzie St. Laurent of Taunton, Ashley (St Laurent) Brown of Woonsocket, RI, Rachael Wyman of ME, Stephen Wyman Jr of Maine, Emily Wyman of ME, Alison Wyman of ME., Matthew Wyman of Santa Monica, CA, David Wyman of Walpole, Joseph Wyman of Walpole.

Some of her favorite songs which she used to sing to her children that will always be remembered.
