On this, the 97th anniversary of Mrs. Mary Duffy's birth, I just want to thank her for the very positive impact she had upon my life. Every election day and December 3rd, I can't help but think of her. I am a much better and more involved citizen, because of having had her as a teacher. Besides the two years of history in her class, I also had many good times and learning experiences working with her on the Steinert yearbook staff for three years. And then, 40 years after graduation, we reconnected and became dear friends. Thank you, Mrs. Duffy, and thank you Mary Alice and John David for sharing your mother with so many others. Yes, she will be "forever missed".

Greetings Mary Alice & family, After reading her obituary all I can express is "What a great life, well done, great job".  Think of all the lives she touched.
My remembrance as a school mate of her daughter at Hamilton High West were the times I stopped to visit her daughter that I was always welcomed very warmly by her. My sympathy to the family.

Dear Mary Alice and Family: What a journey. Your mother truly led an amazing life. How many lives did she touch as teacher, and how much empathy and compassion did you bring to this earth through her? It seems endless . . . My love, thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Mrs. Duffy was a favorite teacher of mine. I have always told my children that if you like your teacher, you will learn. Mrs. Duffy gave me a love for learning and I have often thought of her. I am so glad she left such a great legacy to her family and her students.

Mrs. D you will be missed greatly! Especially every holiday and by all including Grace. You were a heroine to my sister and I and we admired you very much. We considered you our own grandmother, and enjoyed every moment we spent with you. I promise to remember and cherish all the times we shared, and all the life advice you gave us. I love you so much!!! and will miss you immensely!

I had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Duffy on the 1963 and other years Cresset Yearbooks.  She was compassionate in her work and we all loved working with her. I still remember meeting at her home and taking photos there for the dedication of the yearbook to our parents. She is remembered and will be missed.

I was raised across the street from the Duffy's. John David and I were neighbors, teammate's, and friends. Mrs. Duffy was a warm, generous person who I will always remember fondly. I remember her love of antiques and books. I recall her mother who was called "Jammy."
Thanks for everything, Mrs. Duffy!

My best memories of Aunt Mary were when I was 5 or 6 and would ask my Mom if I could walk down the street at the shore all by myself to visit her. I would go there all the time, just popping in to see what she was doing. She would always sit and talk to me and she would always be happy to see me even if I was being a pesky little kid always at her door.

We are so sad to hear about Aunt Mary's passing. Whenever she would come visit, she was sure to make us laugh! Even though we were not her grandchildren, she always took great interest in what we did, and we loved having her drop by at Christmas. She will truly be missed.

We had the pleasure to meet Miss Mary at Christmas time around 13 or 14 years ago...what a gem! I remember that she had a very big appetite, I guess thats where John gets it from. She had 2 maybe 3 portions of prime rib that day...Bless you all and our prayers are with the family. Jack and Debbie Collins (Donna's Twin sister and Husband)

Though we did not know her well we do hear wonderful stories about John's family and New Jersey. Mary will be truly missed by all who loved her. Don&Janice Donna's sis

Bus trip to Death Valley. In Feb. 1995, we took a bus tour to Death
Valley as this is when the wild flowers are in full bloom. There were only
13 people on this tour and Mary was the only one alone. That started
our friendship with Mary.

I am sad to hear that Mary has passed from this life but I'm sure there is great rejoicing in heaven! I speak for "The Residence" when I say that Mary Duffy was one classy lady. She helped make The Residence beautiful. I was so blessed to have served on the board with her and many of the other "Grand Dames" of Trenton. They don't make them like that anymore. Sincerely, Joey Jenkins

The four of us always looked forward to Aunt Mary's visits after Christmas. Her gifts were always so thoughtful and creative, and her singing Christmas tree has become a DeAngelis house staple at Christmastime. More importantly, Aunt Mary was a strong, intelligent and independent woman, and we were lucky to have grown up with her.
