Our Aunt Nancy was a lovely, warm and caring lady who never failed to bring a smile to your face. A loving wife to her husband John, and caring mother to her daughters, Kim and Karen; we will always treasure our childhood memories of spending time with them in the U.P. of Michigan. Gone from us for now, but forever loved by God and all her loved ones in Heaven...see you in the blessed "sweet by and by," Aunt Nancy.

Nancy and I started teaching together in the early 1970s. She and John visited after we moved to Madison. We would keep in touch through Christmas letters as our lives became even busier. After John died I reached out to Nancy and she would come to Madison for a visit each year and even to Minneapolis. When I had knee surgery she came to help out. I remember how supportive she was as I visited my former husband who was confined to a care facility nearby. She would always ask about my children and grandchildren (she visited my children's homes and met my first grandson). I remember her sound thoughtful advice and encouraging words. I admired her artistic talent , and she graced me with her artistic gifts. I also admired her directness and honesty. We enjoyed playing games, eating out (she loved the Egg and I), Art Fair on the Square, Opera in the Park, Concerts on the Square, the Capitol Bldg. and the Union. So many memories, dear friend. I miss you, but know your earthly journey is done, and you are where there is only LOVE.

Good bye to my Dear Friend, Nancy.
We didn't have many years together, but what we had was quality. Together we enjoyed so many (one day) bus trips, concerts, school plays and musical performances. We would call each other (spur of the moment) and off we'd go. Well, now in heaven, you are at peace, and listening/seeing the best of performances. And I will be thinking of you in all our familiar places.
   Miss you.   Lynn

The world's a lesser place without Nancy in it.
She was more than a neighbor to us. In the aftermath of our own loss a decade ago, she -- without hesitation or expectation of reward -- stepped into any role required: chauffeur, youth mentor, dog sitter, card maker, house watcher, advise giver ... the tasks were endless. Nancy's best role, of course, was the one most-often taken for granted: Just being a very, very good friend.
Nancy understood that in an increasingly divisive world, simply being KIND had the power to elevate everyone around her.
We genuinely loved Nance. We'll miss her. May her memory always be a blessing.

I worked with Nancy during my years at Notre Dame Elementary in De Pere. She also taught my children and I was a fan of her quirky humor. She was inspiring and had a lovely sense of self.

Mom was a talented artist who could master anything she turned her hand to.  She gave me her love of the UP, water, colored glass, and art. She led such a rich life, with so many amazing experiences, did so different things. She was my lifeline when I was home alone raising 4 daughters the many times my husband was on deployment. I cherish all the memories, all the times we spent together. I cannot begin to express how much she will be missed.
