This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Nicholas Leavitt, 43 years old, born on January 17, 1981, and passed away on February 5, 2024.
Nicholas “Nick” Dean Leavitt passed away on February 5, 2024, in Denver, Colorado at the age of 43.
Nicholas is survived by his wife (Michelle Brown), his beloved son (Winston Brown Leavitt), and a Baby Girl due in May 2024. Nick is also survived by his parents (Dennis & Julie) and three brothers (Dennis Jr., Frank, and Ben).
Nick was born on January 17, 1981, in Las Vegas, Nevada to Dennis Myron Leavitt and Julie Rae Leavitt. Nick spent his adolescence in Las Vegas. Nick enjoyed roller hockey, obtained the rank of Eagle Scout, then graduated from Cimarron-Memorial High School in 1999. Nick attended the University of Nevada-Reno before serving a mission for the LDS Church. Upon his return, Nick earned both a bachelor’s degree in business administration (finance) and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Nick moved to Denver, Colorado, in 2011.
If you asked Nick what his profession was, he would tell you that he was a former pro hockey player or a pro surfer (with shark bite scars to prove it). Nick’s special brand of humor aside, throughout his career, he worked in business intelligence, sales analytics, and carved out an outstanding reputation as a Senior Salesforce Administrator at Ping Identity, where he built and managed a stellar team.
Nick enjoyed snowboarding, playing hockey (with the Silverbacks), the outdoors, and the Vegas Golden Knights.
Nick’s greatest achievement will always be his family. Nick married the love of his life, Michelle Brown, on October 14, 2017. Nick and Michelle traveled the world together, creating memories in Australia, Belgium (where Nick proposed), France, the United Kingdom, Greece, Costa Rica, and Mexico.
Nick and Michelle welcomed their son Winston Brown Leavitt on July 26, 2021. A near-identical copy of his father, Winston carries on Nick’s good looks. Nick will be remembered as an attentive, present, and hands-on father to Winston - and a doting husband to Michelle.
Nick led by example in both his personal and professional life. Nick unconditionally loved and supported his friends and family. Nick will be remembered as a positive, considerate person with an optimistic perspective on life.
Keep Nick's memory alive by sharing photos, stories, and memories with Michelle, Winston, and Baby Girl.
Nick’s funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 1:00 pm (MST) at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home located at 1091 S Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO 80246.
For those that wish to express condolences to Nick's loved ones, the funeral service doors will open one hour before the service (12:00 pm) and a reception off-site will follow where we all hope to eat, drink, and talk about Nick. All are welcome.
