"Just like a Hollywood Movie" were Nick's last words, his wife and daughters believe he was reflecting on how much he had loved his life. Nick shared his gratitude many times during his last days for how very lucky and beautiful his life had been. His unwavering optimism, gentle kindness, and silly sense of humor were known by all who loved him. He handed down his gentle kindness to his grandchildren.
Nick was born on March 28, 1940, in Los Angeles. He was born into Animation, his father Stephen and brother Tee also shared in the family business. He was very proud of his family's contributions to the art. Sharing five Oscars and eleven Oscar nominations, an Emmy, and countless international animation awards between them. Nick left the world of animation to join the Peace Corps with his wife Julie in 1999. Nick found himself as a volunteer and he would share that some of his happiest days were in Peace Corps. He then worked for the Peace Corps as the Administrative Director in Suriname, South America.
Nick spent his life traveling and dreaming up new adventures. His family and friends were the lucky recipients of many of the adventures he would tirelessly plan, most known was his love for Mexico. His only regrets were the trips he had yet to take and not being able to watch his grandchildren grow. The most important thing in Nick's life was his family seconded only by his many friends. He adored his wife and daughters and lived for his grandchildren.
