Les and I were so saddened to hear of Ralph's passing. He was a prominent figure in our lives for over 30 years. He was a kind, generous, fun-loving man. Some of my favorite memories of Ralph were spent at his home flying kites. Such simple things brought such joy!!! So sorry for you Bev, he will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Hey Uncle Ralph, You are forever etched in my memory. Kind, generous, fun, talented. If asked to define a really good man I would talk about you. Twenty-five years ago you gave me work when I needed it, even though I had no skill at the job. I witnessed how you treated people and respected hard work. Your example was always positive for me. Mathews thru and thru! Thanks, Love You, Fred

It was a pleasure to have met Ralph a couple of times over the years. He raised a good son that begat another great son - who is my best friend. A hard-working man who passed on that ethic (in one way or another) down through the generations. It's always hard to lose a loved one and I am thankful that he lived a long, honorable life.

to my loving family,

There was only one Ralph Mathews. From our early days in Kansas, our youth in Washington and the endless number of times I would find myself at your door in California, You were always there to help me find my way, or was it the other way around. I love you brother, Ross

Ralph treated me just like his son. You know what that means. I needed money and he gave it to me. I needed help for a down payment on my first home, he helped. I needed a job and he gave me a job and overpayed me. He was one of my dad's best friends and I know why.

Being a former son-in-law I found Ralph to be a kind understanding man. Gave me the opportunity to work for him and learn a trade. I was green as they come doing any kind of construction. Last time I saw him was in March of 1996 for Suezi's birthday. He greeted me with kindness and a smile on his face at seeing me. Thanks Ralph.

It's been 95 years since you were born out in Chanute, Kansas Dad! I miss you pappy, Thomas just turned 38, I wish we could just pick up the phone and chat a while. The family got together to celebrate Thomas yesterday, we talked about you and wished you were there. A couple of weeks ago we celebrated Cody's 47th birthday. The whole family was down in Newport Beach, your old stompin' grounds. We miss you and we will always love ya Dad!
