On August 3, 1970, I became the big sister to Rrnn Avery Long! He was named after both of our grandfather's. Our maternal grandfather Rufus Nathaniel Ivie Jr. was called Wren growing up, hence the name Renn. Our paternal grandfather's name was William Avery Long. He was given the name of the 2 greatest men our parents ever knew. 

At first I tried to get Momma and Daddy to take him back to the hospital.  But, the more I looked into those beautiful blue eyes, the more I loved him! 

I have always taken the job of big sister seriously, and took every advantage of it I could.
