A tribute to “PaPa”
In the mosaic of my memories, each tile glimmers with the essence of Papa, a remarkable man whose spirit sculpted the landscape of my life. From the rhythmic echoes of our bike rides along the boardwalk to the magical moments of being knighted in Central Park, his joyous spirit and playful heart were the backdrop of my childhood.
Papa, with his indefatigable right hook on the basketball court, taught me the delicate art of persistence mixed with a touch of mischief. His laughter was a melody that played softly in the background of our ice cream escapades, a sound as sweet as the treats we devoured.
A man of profound calmness and eloquence, Papa navigated the complexities of life with the ease of a seasoned sailor. His professional legacy, marked notably by making the Fed's fund rate accessible online, stands as a testament to his foresight and dedication.
Despite the inevitable rush of time, which curtailed the years I yearned to share further with him, his influence remains a constant in my life. I fondly recall the thrill of awaiting his arrival from the train, the strength and safety of his shoulders at the beach, and our shared adventures kayaking and boogie boarding. Each Knicks and Mets game we attended, each dinner at Michael Jordan’s restaurant, were chapters in the epic he helped author in my life.
Papa was not just a grandfather but a cornerstone of my existence. His generosity extended beyond the warmth of family; it was he who provided me with my first city apartment, supporting my educational pursuits and paving the way for my future.
Papa, you are deeply loved and profoundly missed. I carry your lessons, your love, and your legacy within me—not just in memory, but as the foundation of who I am today. Thank you for every moment, every laugh, every lesson. I love you always.
With all my heart,
Trey
