After a hard fought battle with brain cancer, Sean Patrick Moynihan died in Alexandria, VA on Sunday, November 20, 2022, with loved ones by his side.  He was 45.

Born in Rome, NY on October 23, 1977, Sean grew up in Hamilton, NY.  He attended Hamilton Central School where he was an enthusiastic member of the high school football team and the Future Farmers of America program.  He graduated from Nicolet High School in Glendale, WI in 1997 after moving there with his parents.

Although he held several different positions, Sean spent most of his time working in the food service industry.  His customers and coworkers enjoyed his kind and compassionate spirit and his quick wit.

Sean enjoyed traveling very much.  He visited several different countries with his family,  including the Bahamas, Mexico, Russia, and England.  He also visited many destinations within the United States, including New Mexico where he lived with his girlfriend Trish for many years.

In addition, animals held a special place in Sean’s heart; he loved his dogs and cats.  He had a natural talent for calming animals which came easily to him, and was always striking to see.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Irene Moynihan, and his long-time girlfriend Trish Peile.  Sean left behind his son, Liam (15) of Hubbardsville, NY,  his sisters Patricia Moynihan of Alexandria, VA and Erin Caswell (Moynihan) of Falmouth, MA, as well as his brother-in-law Ken Caswell, nieces Mack and Colleen Caswell, in addition to aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends who will dearly miss him.

A private service will be held in the early summer of 2023 in Hamilton, NY.  In lieu of flowers, consider donating to The American Brain Tumor Association (www.abta.org).

I am having a difficult time finding the words Sean. I will miss you and our visits. You made me so happy when you reached out a year or so ago. My memories of you as a little boy came flooding back. I was crushed when you let me know you had brain cancer and it wasn’t good. Oh the visits we had, sad ones and fun ones. I am glad your suffering is over, we will meet again one day. I was blessed by our friendship.
