Beautiful sunset for Steve over Madison
The last (only) time Sharon was taller than me!
Can you hear him laughing?!
Cousin Stevie
The Beach was always calling Steve!
and Family First!
I always looked forward to visits from Uncle Hank and Aunt Gini and our cousins Sharon, Suzy, "Stevie", Sally, and Sandy to Florida. Running freely on the beaches between Indian Rocks and Pass-A-Grille Beaches. Like his dad, Steve was good about getting in contact with family.
Running on the beach behind Dammie and PawPaw's cottages on Indian Rocks Beach & little motels the Stegeman's would stay at on their jaunts to Florida to visit all of us. Steve lived with us the summer after high school graduation. A recent memory Steve shared with me was when he was walking on Gulf Blvd and I yelled "Hey Steve" and he hopped in my car and we hung out for the day.
After we both had kids Steve followed in his parent's footsteps and started bringing his family to the beach where we'd meet up with our kids. Sometimes stopping in Atlanta at our house for a sleep over.
Steve had the gift of storytelling like Uncle Hank did. His laugh was contageous---just like Uncle Hank's. They loved to look at you and see they made you smile. It was their gifts to those around them and it fueled them.
On our last visit together in May he asked me photograph his approaching wedding in September. I was honored to say "yes".
THANK YOU STEVE for keeping the family together. - - - I miss you.
