Stephen Rudolph Edmondson, 84, of Homewood, AL, passed away on May 1, 2024.

Stephen was known by everyone for his wonderful sense of humor and gripping storytelling. He was born near Cullman Alabama and served in the United States Army National Guard for 2 years. After his military service, he had a wide ranging career as a Banker, Home Builder, and Court Reporter. He was a graduate of the University of North Alabama and Gadsden State.

Stephen was a passionate aviato, private pilot and traveller. He was an award-winning writer and author of the book To Live and Die in Alabama. He was a life-long Methodist and a member at Trinity United Methodist Church since the 1980s.

He is survived by his sister, Gwyn Bredeson, sons Rhett and Murray, and friend Lynne Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Leldon, and brothers Decherd and Lamont.

A service to celebrate Stephen's life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood, Alabama, on May 8th at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Parkinson's research.
