I was so saddened and shocked when I heard of Theresa’s passing. We were roommates during our senior year at Alabama. We had many laughs and good times together. My biggest regret is that I did not do a better job keeping in touch. However, we did reconnect about 3 years ago and it was so nice to hear her sweet voice. I have no doubt that she loved her family with all her heart—my thoughts and prayers are with you all. But what a consolation to know that she is in the very presence of God Himself! What a reunion we will have with her!!

My heart is with you all, family and friends of Theresa. I knew her through the counseling field, the Alabama Counseling Association, and through graduate studies at the University of Alabama. I did not have the privilege to work at the University of Montevallo while she was there, but I ran into her occasionally at a lunch spot in Montevallo. She had the gentlest demeanor and the greatest smile. Thanking the universe for the blessing that she was to so many.

Theresa was such a fun loving person and her laugh just lit up the room. I am so blessed to have known her.  Praying for the family.

Theresa was one of the kindest, most caring, most compassionate people I know. She was the most authentic, most sincere person I have ever meet. She smiled constantly and laughed naturally. She had a positive outlook and was optimist about life. It was always a delight to be in her presence.

She touched the lives of those who knew her. She made a difference to countless students. She was a wonderful counselor, teacher, colleague, and friend.

I will miss her very much.
