Absolute Bliss

October 28, 2017

Christmas 2015 a very dear friend sent this photo of Tom and I that she had taken one summer and in her card she wrote the following. I asked if I could share it and she said yes.

"Necya and Tom, Tom and Necya... Although you are a strong individual in your own right, one of the aspects of your life I most admire is the relationship you built with Tom.  You seem to bring out the best in each other, support each other, laugh with each other, and feel safe with each other.

I have always loved this photo of you and Tom.  I think it captures the absolute bliss you found in each other, and is a snapshot of a lifetime (almost) of moments of utter contentment and quiet joy."

A Great Grandfather

October 23, 2017

Poppy was an awesome grandfather. He made everyone laugh, love, and feel awesome when they were around him. If you had a conversation with him he probably wouldn't let you walk away without you learning something. He was super intelligent. In this picture i was teaching him how to play a somewhat challenging card game called Magic the Gathering. It was a ton of fun with him and he even picked the game up really fast. I will never forget that moment with him and he will be deeply missed.

What A Guy, from Barbara Daniels

October 22, 2017

10-18-2017, our dear friend, Tom E. Lawnsby, bodily left our presence, but his gigantic and fun loving spirit will remain in our hearts. His mind was beautiful and filled with enormous thoughts of endless possibilities and goodness. He was an energetic force, a "leader of the pack", a tenacious, and yet, gentle mentor, a fabulous friend, and a loving spouse, father, grandfather and family member. Tom's super-sized personality and equally inquiring mind kept all who knew and loved him on their toes waiting for his next move ... and, his next silly pun! Yes, he will be missed and remembered greatly, but his unique and wonder-filled spirit remains and will live among us and guide us. What a Guy❤️

Sailing Guru

October 23, 2017

Dad took delight while sailing.  When cruising, you could see his smile, broad enough to span oceans, as he sliced through waves and felt the wind whip across his face.  This was onboard his old 24' sailboat moored in Everett, Washington for a time.  A great day with blue skies, great wind and wonderful memories.

The Dog Whisperer

October 22, 2017

Dad always had dogs following him around everywhere he went. They knew he was the "alpha dog" and they loved his attention and energy. Here's a photo of Dad with Bella, Blue and Daddy Dawg. All dogs loved Dad.

Dad's Birthday in 2016

October 22, 2017

We gathered to celebrate Dad's birthday in 2016 at Reale's Pizza restaurant. Mom, Kerri, Jed, Susanne, Garrett and Tanner. He loved pizza! How many different pizzas did we sample over the years? Pizza connoisseur!

Love From Beyond

October 22, 2017

Dad passed away in the hospital in Georgetown on Wednesday morning, October 18. That night we gathered in my parent's home with my mother. I spent the night. I was in the kitchen cleaning up and I saw something by my foot. I reached down to pick it up and it was a message from beyond....a heart-shaped leaf, perfectly formed. Love from Dad to us all.  Love you Dad, Kerri

Dad's Birthday in 2011

October 22, 2017

We love this picture of Dad laughing, candles blazing on his birthday cake. This is from his birthday celebration at his home in Round Rock on November 9, 2011. How many times did we see Dad laughing like this? He loved family gatherings.

Dad Loves Little Sports Cars

October 22, 2017

Dad has always loved little sports cars. He had a Fiat when I was a little girl, red of course. He had a Porsche, Alpha, Mustang. His last little sports car was my Miata that he fixed up after it sat in my driveway unloved for years. He put love back into it, and was so proud when he came to show it to me on Saturday October 14. We had such a nice lunch afterwards, me and Dad and Mom, at the Blue Corn Harvest restaurant in Cedar Park. We had philosophical discussion about the meaning of life. Dad's tummy was still hurting without an answer as to why. But as usual, he was in the moment with his wife and daughter, enjoying life and conversation.
