I failed my first driving road test and was heartbroken. As a teenager, having a driver's license represents ultimate freedom. I took the road test in a Lincoln Towncar, which is akin to a large boat. No one could parallel park that giant vehicle. I, of course, was very depressed about my failure and really too embarrassed to even disclose my misfortune.  Upon sharing the sad news with father, he encouraged me to try again even if it took 10 tries. Luckily, I passed the subsequent road test (in a much smaller vehicle). Thanks to my Dad for providing such encouragement.
