Bill and I worked together during one summer at Scullen Steel Co. Main building is still there on Manchester Road and Waldemar. We had a pact....if I was late Bill would clock in for me and if he was late (never was) I would clock in for Bill. I was late one day and true to our pact, Bill clocked me in. The foreman was Art Franz and called us both into his office. It was then that I discovered I was not the center of the universe. We didn't get fired but never stepped out of line again ever.I wasn't as smart as I thought I was.
My condolences to Bill's wife and family. He was one of the nicest guys I ever had the privilege to be classmates at CBC and one brief summer at Scullen Steel Co.
