His Life

William Francis Connelly

February 4, 2020
It is with great sadness we announce that William “Bill” Francis Connelly, who was born on April 19, 1932, passed away on January 24, 2020 at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his ex-wife and mother of his children, Margaret. He will be lovingly remembered by all of his family including his six children: Cyndi (Scott), David, Tim (Nancy), Billy (Ronda), Melissa and Jeffrey (Carrie); nine grandchildren: Joe (Allison), Cole, Tessa (Armando), Kristin, Brianna (Austin), Katie, William, Alex and Isabelle; five great-grandchildren: Blake, Marlowe, Robbie, Averly and Jace; his sister Pat (Frank) and brother Bob. Bill is survived by his second wife, Carita, three stepchildren, three step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. He will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Bill was born in Altoona, PA and, over his lifetime, lived in the east, midwest and western United States. He had a long and storied career at Rust Oleum Corporation, from where he ultimately retired. Shortly after retiring, he moved to Roseville, CA which he referred to as “paradise” and lived until he passed.

Dad, Grandad, Bill was a great guy. He loved his family and was loving, supportive, honest, fun and funny. He called his kids his “treasures” and his “greatest accomplishment” and often spoke of how proud he was of his kids and grandkids. Bill loved the game of golf and played it up until only a few months before he passed. He was happy to live a good part of his life in California because he could not stand cold weather. His love for ice cream, chocolate and a good joke was well known in our family.

Words cannot express how much we will miss him but, his faith was strong, and he was at peace. “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” – John 10:27-29
