William “Bill” F. Ray, Jr.
William “Bill” F. Ray, Jr., 81, of Hoover, AL, passed away on June 18, 2024. He was born on January 24, 1943, in New Orleans, LA. Bill was known for his dedication to his wife of 58 years, spending time with his grandsons and fishing at their place on the Warrior River.
Bill is survived by his spouse, Carolyn L. Ray; daughter, Margaret Ann “Maggie” Boyd, and son-in-law, Michael E. Boyd; grandsons, Ray Edward and Jackson Michael Boyd; sister, Nancy Ray Martin, and brother-in-law, George William “Bill” Martin; brother, John Jefferson “Jeff” Huntoon-Ray, and sister-in- law, Hollis Huntoon-Ray. He was preceded in death by his father, William F. Ray, Sr., and mother, Mariana Wathen Ray.
Bill worked as an Operations Supervisor for Southern Natural Gas (SONAT) for over 30 years. He will be remembered for his dedication and hard work in his career.
Visitation will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am. Bill's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, www.michaeljfox.org.

Not enough can be said about Bill and his honesty, humility, kindness and keen sense of humor.  Laid back and patient, Bill worked on his many projects and enjoyed his grandsons  He was there always for Carolyn and Maggie and his friends. Thanks for being there!!!
