RIght behind Pop old house back in the day when all of us were kids he’d give each us a quarter to go to the Snack Shop behind his house. Those quarters would allow me to buy a Huggie juice, some penny candy, a bag of chips and a styrofoam air plane. One particular day this older kid bullied me into giving up my change and when I came back crying to tell pop he went back with me. Let’s just say I never had a problem again that was the first and the last time I was ever bullied. I say this because that’s the man he was. I man of integrity who was a no nonsense disciplinarian. He stood for something and from that day forward I knew that Pop may have not been the riches man alive or had the fanciest of cars. What I did know was he had substance, he loved his family and was not afraid of speaking his truth regardless of what people thought. Wrong was wrong and right was right. I love you pop pop rest in paradise...
